Don't know if this goes here or over in Riverside, but here we go:

In the March '08 issue of PC Gamer, they have a blurb for their next issue that reads "Is it? Could it be? it is!!! Our cover story in April will be the world exclusive announcement of a game that's so secret our fingers would be cut off if we revealed the name here. We know you're dying for clues, so here are two: It's part of a series and it has bears."

Now, I realize I am probably off in left field, but could it be the first TRUE press on GW2? It is part of a series and it does have bears (both the pet and the Norn form). Plus, we know aNet and PCGamer seem to have a close relationship... or perhaps it will be another Deer Hunter or ZooTycoon Game...

any thoughts?

Maybe you are right, but it sounds way too random for me. I hate getting my "hopes" up for nothing in the end.

Problem is, GW2 has already been announced and is hardly a secret.

Does the Tomb Raider series have bears? It could also be the next Tekken game since it has a bear character.

my husband was talking about a game that was supposed to have been released in like 2005 (was the upcoming game of the year or something), but still hadnt been released---started with a "S" I believe....smoff, smarg....cant remember...maybe that is what they are talking about.

I don't think it is GW 2 because they have already done a cover story on GW 2 so it wouldn't be a first look thing

I don't think there is enough to go off of with those two hints. When the next issue comes out it will either be a no brainer, why didn't I think of that moment. Or a wtf kind of clue is that how where we supposed to guess moment.

For hints from the back pages of magazines though, has anyone got the new Nintendo Power? there was a thread somewhere about a new rpg that was going to be huge and I haven't been able to find the new magazine.

Although I think you guys are probably right about it not being GW2, let me mention this. Yeah, GW2 has already been announced, but we have absolutely no idea about how the game will play out. What's the level scale? How do levels affect character performance? How much of the world will be persistant? How will the HoM tie in with our current GW accounts? What professions will be in GW2, and will there be any crafting professions? We don't know any of this stuff (and more, I know I'm forgetting some key questions), so the game is still pretty unknown to us in that regard.

Of course, Tekken for the PC would be a big announcement. The only other gaming bear I could think of would be the Chicago Bears... maybe the next Madden for PC will be on par with the ps3/360 version, that should get a cover story.
